God Ideas— Not Just Good Ideas (#003)

In Ezra 5:2 we read, “Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jozadak set to work to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them, supporting them” (NIV).

Here, we see that— 

•  God gave his builders— workers like Zerubbabel— vision to work.

And...

•  He sent prophets (His messengers) to confirm His power and presence with them.

During that season, Zerubbabel faced opposition. Some people didn’t believe the dreams could come to pass; others outright worked against him. 

But God’s messengers reminded him, as we dicsussed in the previous episode, to continue. Press on. Do the work. 

Note, though, God sends these messengers— and HIs Word— so that we can build this time on God’s wisdom, not human wisdom. 

Furthermore, He allows death on the old manmade ideals, so that God’s ideas can emerge. 

That is, we need God ideas— not just good ideas.
